I am acting for the Widow of the above named

deceased, for the purpose of obtaining probate of his

Will.

By your letter of the 8th ult. you notified

my client, of the issue of the pension to her of £109

per annum, from the Widows and Orphans Fund of Hong

Kong.

For the purpose of ascertaining whether or

not, death duties are payable in respect of this pension,

I should be glad if you will inform me whether the

fund is contributed to by the civil servant during his

life time, in whole or in part, and any other

information you can give me which will be likely to, be

required by the Inland Revenue Authorities.

If you can give me any authority for stating

that the pension is or is not-liable to death duties,

I shall be extremely obliged.
